What was known about the sample before anything was fitted to it.
First, when it is available at all. An analyst is best served by meeting the ceiling on the component count and the fragility of the humps they counted before being shown a fit that appears to settle both. Both facts are cheap and neither is available from the fit.
The entry gate warns and proceeds; it never refuses. Refusing would be wrong in exactly the case the method is for — a mixture on unimodal data with a mechanism the analyst knows about and the tool does not.
